Wills & Estate
Estate Planning
It is important for you to have a will (or two) to ensure that your assets are distributed according to your own wishes. At Rainwood Law, we can advise on the current law and its application to your personal circumstances, as well as recommend estate planning with a view to maintain a balance between tax planning and the post-mortem logistics.
While most focus on post-mortem planning, many neglect planning for their own incapacity, which can become costly and burdensome to the family and loved ones.
At Rainwood Law, we take a wholistic approach to Estate Planning, ensuring that you and your family are well-cared for while you are alive, and that your legacy passes on properly when you are gone, while minimizing the potential family disputes down the road.
Estate Administration
Estate Administration is the legal process of settling the estate of a deceased person to ensure proper distribution and allocation of a deceased’s assets. The process may involve identifying and collection of assets, settling debts and taxes, and final distribution of the net estate to the beneficiaries. With proper planning, the administration process may be simplified. However, in some cases, whether due to lack of planning or unforeseen circumstances, the process may be quite complicated and challenging.
We assist the executors and/or families with the proper legal advice throughout the administration process.
We are honoured for the trust our clients place in us whenever we are given the opportunity to assist with these important aspects of their life.
